EMS Council agenda

FRANKFORT — The next meeting of the Kentucky Emergency Medical Services Council will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 1:30 p.m. EST at the Berry Mansion, 700 Louisville Road (US 60 West adjacent to Juniper Hill Park) in Frankfort. Committees will meet on the following schedule:

  • Training Committee: Feb. 14 at 2:00 p.m. EST in the Health Services Board Room, Health Services Building, Frankfort.
  • EMS/Trauma Systems Committee: Feb 14 at 4:00 p.m. EST in the Auditorium of the Health Services Building, Frankfort.
  • EMS for Children Committee: Feb. 15 at 8:30 a.m. in the Dining Room, Berry Mansion.
  • Medical Standards and Delegated Practice Committee, Feb. 15 from 10:00 - 12:00 noon EST in the Music Room, Berry Mansion.
  • Steering Committee, Feb. 15 at noon in the Kitchen, Berry Mansion.

Emergency Medical Services for Children Committee:

  • Kentucky EMS for Children Project:
    • Ongoing training and other project activities
    • Planning for maintenance activities following end of implementation project.
  • 'Quick Hits' on Pediatric EMS Training:
    • ID available training resources (PEPP modules, etc.)
    • Consider specialized training (Children with special health needs)
    • Determine greatest training needs (anecdotal, survey, other means; skills or lectures)
    • ID and train the trainers (KEMTIA, EMS Educators Association, ambulance service training officers, etc.)
    • Obtain training materials (standard curricula, A/V,. etc.)
    • Deliver training
    • Consider satellite, video tape, other means of widespread distribution
    • Certificate of recognition for hours of pediatric training.
