When people who are not in the emergency medical services field need help, they know to dial three simple numbers. They also realize that help will be immediate...That number is 9-1-1. We don't mean to, however, most of us take our E.M.T.s for granted. It's a service you don't appreciate until you need it.

Mike Carpenter was killed in an accident on December 2, 1994, while transporting a patient to Mary Chiles Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was employed by Hearne Ambulance Service, located in Stanton, Kentucky. "Mike was a wonderful emergency medical technician. He was also a good friend." said Chief J. L. Bowen. He is sadly missed by his family and friends.

E.M.T. Mike Carpenter is survived by his daughter, mother, and sister. He was 39 years old.
